A New Head For Jack by UndeadPrincess A New Head For Jack by UndeadPrincess
Aw snap, another Oz picture! What-what!

I wanted to break down pics for each Oz character and when I sat and thought about Jack Pumpkinhead, there was so much to like about him.

I already liked him a lot from Return To Oz, but he's great in the books too.

For those of you who don't know, Jack's head spoils. When this happens he picks a new pumpkin-head from his personal pumpkin patch and has Ozma carve him a new one.
After that, he buries his old head in his yard and plants a tombstone. Daww...

You could almost consider this a sequel to Don't Tell Mombi, since both of them involve the strange father/mother relationship that Tip/Ozma and Jack have.

...On a funny production note, you guys should see the piece of paper i drew this on. It was all wrinkled and torn up piece of crap. Wtf, man.

This is so adorable! Jack is such a sweetheart. My heart melts everytime he asks Dorothy in "Return to Oz", "May I call you Mother, even if it isn't so?"

I further described Jack Pumpkinhead (an ALF) in my own Oz novel "Casper in Oz". I explained that Jack started the pumpkin garden by growing them from seeds scooped from his original head. Thus his memories also reside in the new heads. Once the head is carved and ready, he then adds some seeds from the old head and his new head will have all the old memories.

Elsewhere I'll chat about the Tin Man.

ALF stands for Artificial Life Form

That's really brilliant, thanks for sharing! Seriously, it all makes sense that way.
Is there any way one could read your Casper In Oz?

Check my profile ! The story is in progress ! Read it as I key it in ! This may take a good while, but I think DevArt will hold it ! Sorry that my illos won't go in, tho.

Awesome, and thanks. I'll start following it, even if I don't comment

I'd have to type it all in as cold copy somehow on DevArt. Ihave yet to find how to do that. I may fix a few flubs here & there, but I would not be able to include the illos I did for my story -which runs ~100 pgs in the draft I created.

Dawwwww, I love the mother/son feeling I get from this picture.

Jack seems like a little kid, aweing over his mommy and how she works to delicatley to make him a new head.....

.....ooh! Idea! Sorry, but you picture seems to have inpspired a new little idea for my Wizard Of Oz/Fairy Tale/Greek Mythology mash up that I'm writing up for the hell of it. It's quite fun, actually!
